The Health Resource, Inc., was established in 1984 as a result of Jan Guthrie's bout with ovarian cancer.
How It All Began
I extensively researched my rare type of cancer. The information I gathered helped me to locate a physician who had a special interest in treating my type of cancer and enabled me to be an active participant with him in the decisions regarding my treatment.
My research was so important in helping me to regain a sense of control over my personal health that I decided to do similar research as a service for others with medical problems.
Although I have had recurrences, I have contended successfully
with ovarian cancer for over 20 years. I attribute my good health to
a combination of mainstream and alternative therapies.
